Thammasat Business School (TBS), Thammasat University (TU), provides internationally-recognized quality education that meets the standards of the world’s main accreditation organizations. The School has just been reaccredited by the European body, the EFMD Quality Improvement System (EQUIS), for the third time (2012 – 2024), and by the Association of MBAs (AMBA), from the United Kingdom, for the second time (2018 – 2024).
Professor Ruth Banomyong, Ph.D., TBS Dean, explained that TBS works hard to maintain standards to ensure that the School remains certified. Certification is a mark of the quality of the graduates the School prepares for Thai business and the labor market. TBS is very proud because, within one year, 2021, the school was reaccredited by two of the three main quality assessment institutions, EQUIS and AMBA.
Each accreditation body makes stringent assessments of quality standards across the institution but the focus of each is quite different:
1. EQUIS: TBS has been certified since 2012. Certification is granted under an international non-profit organization called the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD), an organization that provides accreditation of business administration education standards to Business Schools and Business School Programs, Corporate Universities, and Online Courses in higher education, graduate studies, executive programs, and endorses the academic activities of the business school, including research and academic collaborations.ด้วย
2. AMBA: TBS has been certified since 2018 for graduate business administration programs. AMBA plays a role in setting graduate education management criteria and is committed to raising international standards and quality for schools, students, alumni, and employers.
Both these accreditations enhance the quality of Thai business administration education and benefit students, faculty, and staff members in many ways. Staff and students can exchange experiences as peers with others at leading universities abroad that meet the same accreditation standards. For students, accreditation ensures that the degree received after graduation is recognized and accepted by educational institutions and employers around the world.
Companies and businesses can also be assured of quality of the graduates from our faculty who have unique skills and abilities that meet modern needs according to all the requirements of the organization. Being a part of these accredited institutions also opens the door to international collaboration and career opportunities with leading business schools from around the world.
