For 86 years, the Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy, Thammasat University, a.k.a. Thammasat Business School (TBS), has proven itself as a leading business school not just in Thailand but globally. TBS stands as Thailand’s first Triple Crown Business School, receiving international accreditation from three prestigious institutions: AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) from the United States, EQUIS (EFMD Quality Improvement System) from the European Union, and AMBA (Association of MBAs) from the United Kingdom. Only 1% of business schools worldwide hold this Triple Crown accreditation. Moreover, TBS has been ranked the number one business school in Thailand and the fourth in Southeast Asia according to CEOWorld Magazine’s “The Best Business Schools in the World 2024.” Its MBA, Global Executive MBA (GEMBA), and Master in Finance (MIF) programs are also ranked first in Thailand by the QS World University Rankings 2024.
Associate Professor Dr. Somchai Supattarakul, Dean of TBS, stated, “With TBS’s vision to cultivate future leaders who sustainably shape ASEAN businesses, and our mission to equip future leaders with cutting-edge business insights and technologies for sustainable and effective management in dynamic environments across Thailand, ASEAN, and beyond, we are committed to developing new academic programs that prepare our students to drive business in Thailand and ASEAN.”
In July 2024, in order to serve our TBS’s mission and vision, TBS launched the TBS x SMU 3+1 Dual Degree Program, a collaborative effort with Singapore Management University (SMU), the top business school of Singapore which is also a Triple Crown accredited institution. This program allows students to study at TBS for three years and at SMU for their final year, with opportunities for internships and employment in Singapore. Graduates receive both a bachelor’s degree from TBS and a master’s degree from SMU.

This marks the first time two Triple Crown Business Schools have partnered to offer a four-year perfectly integrated bachelor’s and master’s program. The initiative combines the strengths of TBS’s undergraduate programs in accounting and business administration with SMU’s advanced and diverse master’s programs in accounting at the School of Accountancy of SMU and master’s programs in business administration at Lee Kong Chian School of Business of SMU, providing a comprehensive education.
Associate Professor Dr. Somchai Supattarakul further revealed that TBS is developing a Bachelor of Business Management (International Program) degree, a 3.5-year undergraduate program taught entirely in English at our Rangsit campus which is well-equipped with facilities catering to the student’s learning needs either inside or outside of the classroom. Also, this program offers opportunities to take double degrees with top business schools partnering with TBS. The program is designed to cater to both Thai and international students, with an expected 50% of enrollees from China and ASEAN countries, fostering a truly international learning environment.

This new international undergraduate program will be TBS’s second, following the well-renowned BBA International Program, which has been widely recognized and respected both domestically and internationally. The BBA program has been running for 33 years and has produced numerous successful alumni in the business world domestically and globally.
Associate Professor Dr. Somchai Supattarakul said, “As Thammasat University is a comprehensive university offering a wide range of programs resulting in various faculties, including social science, science and technology, and health science, TBS sees the importance of interdisciplinary education to nurture future business leaders. In this regard, TBS is initiating discussions with other faculties at Thammasat University to create the OneTU 4+1 Dual Degree Program, where TU students will study four years at their respective faculties and an additional fifth year at TBS, earning a bachelor’s degree in their field and a master’s degree in management from TBS.”
