Doctoral of Business Administration - English Programs
TBS offers two doctoral degree programs: The Joint Doctoral Program in Business Administration (JDBA) and Doctoral Program in Business (DPB)
Doctoral Program in Business (DPB)
In 2008, TBS revised Doctoral Program in Marketing, which had been offered since 1998, to include all fields in Business Administration and changed the name to Doctoral Program in Business (DPB). The Ph.D. Program in Business is a 3-4 year Full-time program, emphasizing high level research to produce graduates to work in academia and the business consulting field. The revised curriculum has been intensively improved and allowed students to fully engage in independent studies. Classroom learning focuses, mainly on quantitative and qualitative research methodologies. Students spend most of their time doing independent research with guidance and consultation from theirs advisers who are experts in particular business field.DPB faculty includes experts not only from TBS but from leading overseas universities such as The University of Colorado, New York University, The University of Texas at Austin, Oxford University, Birmingham University and Exeter University, The University of Melbourne, The University of New South Wales.

The Joint Doctoral Program in Business Administration (JDBA)
In 1982, three leading Thai universities: Chulalongkorn, Thammasat and National Institute of Development administration (NIDA) collaborated to offer a Joint Doctoral Program in Business Administration (JDBA) with initial funding from Canada International Development Agency (CIDA) in order to produce quality graduates and high-level research for competitiveness at the local and international levels.The joint doctoral degree from the three leading universities creates a solid academic foundation and quality research to meet international standards. Instructors from Thailand and overseas work closely with students to achieve this goal. Graduates from this program are widely recognized for their high capabilities.
The JDBA is a Full-time, 4-year Program. Successful graduates will earn a Doctor of Business Administration (D.B.A) Degree. There are four fields of concentration.
- Accounting emphasizes management accounting, finance accounting, auditing, cost control and analysis, industrial and government accounting.
- Finance emphasizes business finance, financial institutions, investment and capital analysis.
- International Business concentrates on business strategy, technology, and international business operation.
- Marketing covers marketing theory, consumer behavior, industrial marketing, market research, marketing simulation, marketing strategy.
